This towel holder from Ikea can really serve a lot of different functions. Right now I am using two of them to hang pants in my closet. I have them hung on the side wall when you are looking into the closet. This way they don't take away from the space in front of me where my shirts and dresses are hanging -- no annoying bulkiness in the closet from double layering pants on one hanger or awkward reaches to get to them. The pants lay really nicely on these rods since they are a little bit wider than your normal hanger -- no weird creases when you are in a rush to throw your basic black suit pants on! You can go two pants deep on each rail and they're sturdy enough for jeans.
Other Uses
* In a bathroom for towels...one for handtowels and the other for bath sheets
* In a linen closet...to hang your colorful napkins and placemats
* In a guest bedroom...to display spare blankets that are too pretty to keep in a closet (and avoids a musty smell when you go to pull them out for guests!)
