Today's Agenda: Enjoying some new additions to my lunch! Yesterday, Aaron's mom and I stopped by the Farmer's Market at 8th Street NW between D & E Streets in the Penn Quarter area (Thursdays, 3-7pm). It's a nice break from the office buildings and stores. We tasted all of the fruit at one of the stands and settled on the white nectarines I'm enjoying today-- delicious! There was also a stand with the most beautiful mushrooms and decadent looking breads and tarts -- great if you have a dinner party you need to bring something to on a Thursday night (the tarts & breads, not 'shrooms).
Also stands with cheeses and meats. Some beautiful (and, yes, expensive) heads of lettuce. And one with gelato as well. A nice selection and at least fun to wander through.
We also combined our visit to the market (and chauffeur service to pick up Aaron from work!) with a stop at Teaism for my favorite Ginger Limeade and a taste of their Peach Pie and a necessary (!) stop at West Elm (I had two $25 gift cards from the front of their catalog! They have a great new home scent -- Citron Mint -- and I found this box in pool blue for my Mom's master bedroom re-design for only $19.99 *orig. $89*).
