It's been a busy 2012 so far! Most importantly I am loving my client projects I am working on. Each one is so different and I couldn't have imagined how rewarding all of this would be just a few years ago. Here are a few of my favorite images from recent projects --
It's hard work -- running your own business is a LOT of work! -- but I still love it and it's fun.
So fun that I've made a few changes around here. First, we have a new website!! Please come check it out at onmyagenda.com/blog. I hired the amazing Team A Design to redesign my website with the goal of making it clean and fresh and easy to navigate and update on my end. All goals happily met!
Another big change is that I have hired my first employee! She is so enthusiastic and I think will be a great addition. Helping me be in two places at once and keep this little company humming along nicely.
There are a lot of new projects that I'm hoping to have photographed soon and uploaded. In the meantime, we are working to post on the blog frequently with fun ideas, maybe a lot of random ideas, and lots of before and afters!
If you follow the blog through Blogger, please (!!) take a couple of minutes and go to the new site on Wordpress and sign up for the new blog! You can subscribe either by RSS Feed to your Google Reader or by email -- just click here and look on the right hand side under "Subscribe". It's super easy. Three seconds to subscribe, I promise.
Thanks for reading this blog and signing up for the new one! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
xo,
Nicole

Top Ten President's Day Sales Roundup
Today's Agenda: Purchased 46 yards of Marimekko fabric! It was $3.95/yard so I couldn't help myself...I am now thinking about the pillows, shower curtains, placemats and napkins that I can incorporate into client projects. And a tote bag for me -- it may be my go to handbag!
I seem to keep getting emails upon emails about weekend sales. And then confused about what's on sale and for how long. So, here's a quick rundown of my top 10 list of great sales -- and one thing from each store that caught my eye.
1/ Jonathan Adler: Until March 4:
2/ West Elm: 15% off clearance items; 20% off accent tables; February 20 (SOOO many great options and classic pieces like the Martini side table and Parsons console)
3/ Crate and Barrel: 20% off bedding; March 4; up to 60% off at the Outlets this weekend only (incl. $3.95/yard Marimekko fabric which is 91% off of the retail price!)

What does the back of your sofa look like?
Today's Agenda: Working with client and electrician to hang these lights,
in this space! (this is the before picture -- everything is cleared out now except for the art on the wall)
Pretty exciting!
So, I have two current projects that require me to take into consideration how pretty the backs of sofas are. In addition to being just the right size, the right color, the right fabric and the right level of comfiness. The backs of sofas have never been this critical in a project before to be honest. But it really does matter. And in either space there is no room for a console table to style. The back of the sofa will just be out there on its own. I've narrowed it down to a couple of options that will work well.
This is my set of criteria:
- Fabric that is either colorful or textured
- No seams
- A lower back so you see the rest of the room with the sofa (almost like you are looking at the front of it)
- Pretty legs that prop the sofa up just the right little bit.
Here are some good looking backs of sofas...

A Sunday in Georgetown
Today's Agenda: A lighting plan. A serious, awesome lighting plan for a large, airy open living room.
This Sunday found me at the Georgetown Flea Market admiring various treasures and thinking about creative ways to use them. These were my favorites this week. I just came away with a Kelly Green bangle bracelet (my favorite color and favorite jewelry/accent piece that I can just throw on and pull an outfit together). But these teacups made for Bergdorf's were hard to leave behind...Imaging on some rustic shelves with a really pretty paint color -- oh, my favorite Gentleman's Gray from B.Moore would look great with these...if they are still there next week then maybe it was meant to be :)

And, I was happy to see that the holiday season is still alive. These wreaths can really be kept up all winter.
{love the color of this house!}
And, my favorite photo of the weekend! The dress, the red door on the church! Love it.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Lovely + Salvaged
Today's Agenda: Taking advantage of Elfa's sale @ The Container Store and designing 3 closet overhauls for a client. Am excited to see the transformation!
I also uploaded my photos from the little point and shoot camera I carry around when I'm shopping. 468 photos I hadn't uploaded!
Here are some from an a-mazing store I went to while in Chicago in November -- Salvage One (60,000 sq ft of awesomeness). SERIOUSLY awesome.
Chicago was great for design inspiration! I'll share some more sources and inspiration photos as I dig through my photos :)
