I've had a couple of updates on my list that I have wanted to make to our home. One was to find a better solution to our full length mirror "situation", as I mentioned awhile back. We bought it when we were in New York and it worked perfectly in the bedroom -- it was a Crate and Barrel classic -- stood straight up, no leaning, had a nice hook on the back, chrome finish. My first adult full length mirror (i.e., not the $9.99 version from Target). When we moved to DC I had it in the bedroom and it was okay -- but really never found the perfect spot for it. Then decided to declutter the bedroom a bit and found a spot for it in the bathroom. Still not right -- the base was too large, it covered my favorite black and white photos and you couldn't really get the right angle to make sure that the pants really weren't too tight. Though it was nice to get close to the mirror for putting on mascara and eyeliner instead of leaning over the sink.
So...I was so proud of myself for showing self-control in this purchase -- I thought about which mirror was the best for the space, was patient and waited for my birthday to gift myself with this mirror, I waited even longer to install the mirror until I had sold my old mirror on Craigslist and then I finally hung up the new mirror.
So easy to put together (it consists of the oval mirror, the hook that goes over the door and then another metal hook that connects the two). Perfect in the space -- it is hanging on the outside of the bathroom door which is where our two his and hers closets are which creates a little dressing room area. And I can stand back far enough to get a good idea if my outfit works or if I need to go back into the closet to try again.
Solution found!
{Stay tuned for another one of the updates to our home that I recently completed...it involves this.}
