Today's Agenda: Keep having fun!
This past year, as some of you know, I left my career as a corporate lawyer to make the switch to a more creative career. I have many creative interests. In interior decorating and staging, event planning, dinner parties, designing invitations, photography. But when I first thought of "making the switch" I thought I needed to have a true focus (i.e., become an interior decorator or event planner) -- or, I thought, at least have a theme to wrap around all of my interests. Hence, the title of this blog "On My Agenda", and what I hope will be the name of a business one day soon.
My idea was that I always had fun items on my agenda while a lawyer. That I purposefully kept on my agenda because I knew I needed them to maintain any ounce of sanity (yes, my logic was to add more things to my agenda to keep me happy). My husband's surprise 30th casino-themed birthday party, my sister-in-law's wedding invitations, Thanksgiving dinners complete with printed menus, baby showers, bridal showers, Christmas cards.
But why couldn't all of those fun items stay on my agenda. But they could just originate from someone else's agenda! I thought items on your agenda that you need help with can be on my agenda. I had been in a career where the scope of my job kept growing narrower and narrower. I didn't want to give that up here.
And, from my list of fun things I have to do this week I appear to have hit my first note of success.
And, there's no doubt I'm having fun.
I did not know this!!! I want to hear more!
