Curtains are Hung

Last Weekend's Agenda: Hang curtains in our Master Bedroom.

Planning Points: Looking for curtains is time consuming. Is the pattern too boring? Too exciting? Are they the right price? Right size?

When we first moved into our home two years ago I put up some temporary sheer curtains from West Elm. I mounted them on a spring rod from Umbra on the inside of the windows to minimize any remnants of my indecision.

We then thought about high end motorized shades that would be some sort of interesting modern material.

Then I found these and these at Ikea. Right price. Good style. High functionality. Sold.

Verdict: I love them. The blue and white pattern on the curtains on the sides grounds the blue and white I have added in the duvet cover. It adds a traditional, softer element to the room. And the white curtains have solid grommets that slide easily when closing them at night and opening them to the light in the morning. The window was also a little off center so by having the blue/white curtain on the right mounted so it covers part of the wall the window looks centered and the room wider.

*Bonus: If I change up the color palette in the room, these are easily changeable. And there is a great selection of curtains at Ikea that just seem to be getting better. (I really like these.)
