New Adventure!

Yesterday's Agenda:  Don't you love when you are tired from a really fun day?  That's how I felt last night.  I started out yesterday by seeing my favorite wedding couple and dropping off some invites/idea pages for their meeting with a florist this weekend, having a morning coffee/play/walk date with my friends in Capitol Hill and their babies, a pilates lesson (if anyone needs a recommendation -- my instructor is fantastic!), a visit with another friend in Capitol Hill with the original agenda being to go over Photoshop which then devolved into a super fun trip to Community Forklift!  {And devlolved further a few hours later into an early happy hour at her house with a few friends on the Hill!  We did squeeze in a bit of Photoshop though...}

What's Community Forklift?  It's essentially a thrift store for home projects -- serious home projects.  Like replacing doors, chandeliers, sinks, appliances, marble.  But for super cheap!  It's almost like the Marshalls for big home projects -- you definitely have to dig some, some things are not in the best shape, but when you find the piece that's just right for your home AND is a great bargain you get that incredible rush!  Click here for more details.

I've been optimizing my office space this week and wasn't sure what to do with this West Elm chunky console table I have.  It's from our New York days and was great as a desk/catch all table there.  But here, the natural color wasn't meshing with the sleek white Parsons tables I have.  I considered selling it.  Which made me a little sad.  BUT Community Forklift saved the table!  I found a slab of granite that was the perfect size {just about 5 inches extra on either end of the table} and perfect color tone {black/gray/white with a hit of yellow -- the colors of my office!} and such a great, clean space for reviewing printouts, compiling projects, shooting photos.  {Really it's my husband who saved the table by getting this {um, really heavy} piece of granite up the stairs using his shear brute force.  It was actually pretty impressive.  That is the only caveat about this place is that you need to be sure you can get whatever you purchase home.  But if you buy something you like they'll hold it for you for two weeks while you round up some friends to help!}

Here are pictures of the lovely, beauty resting on the console table this morning.  I'll post pictures of the office {and the lovely, beauty} once it's fully optimized!

In the meantime, I'm trying to think of what else I can marblize/granitize!
